HOW DO I SETUP MY CISCO 8811 PHONE?
Congratulations, enclosed is your new Cisco 8811 Phone.
Action Required:
1) Remove and Replace existing 7940 with the new 8811 phone.
- Assemble the 8811. Install foot stand, install handset.
- Install Network and PC cable (IMPORTANT – ensure the correct network and PC ports are connected appropriately.
Looking at the back of the phone – The network port is on the left and PC port on the right).
Note: If your 7940 is using an external power supply, the new 8811 no longer requires external power. Power for the 8811 is provided by PoE (Power over Ethernet). Return external power unit with the 7940 phone.
2) Ship back the old Cisco 7940
-Utilize the same box you received the new phone to return the old 7940. Affixing the pre-printed shipping label to the outside of the box addressed to Lexair MX3T-98 (included).
Returning the 7940 phone using this process will perform an auto disconnect and prevent double-billing to your BEMSID/department. (No service disruption to the 8811).
